I’m incredibly honored to have been selected as a recipient of the 2025 Angelo Donghia Foundation Scholarship, a national award given to a small number of interior design students across the country. Each nominee is recommended by their department and selected through a juried review of student work. I’m sincerely grateful for this opportunity and the support it offers as I complete my final year of study.
For my submission, I proposed a new headquarters for The Trevor Project, the leading suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ+ youth. The design focuses on creating a space that feels emotionally safe, affirming, and supportive for both the people seeking care and those providing it.
The project draws on natural metaphors and soft, approachable forms to express themes of growth and connection. Tree-inspired column coverings—some softly illuminated in calming blue light—offer sculptural and symbolic presence throughout the building. Spaces for counseling, peer support, meditation, movement, and reflection are woven into the plan. Interactive testimonial kiosks share real stories from LGBTQ+ youth, helping foster visibility, empathy, and hope. The entire space is designed to be ADA-accessible and gender-inclusive, with attention to comfort, clarity, and care at every level.
